​The College of Marin's Multimedia Studies (MMST) program offers a comprehensive curriculum in 3D animation, rigging, and modeling, and game development, structured to guide students from foundational skills to advanced techniques. The 3D course sequence includes
MMST 141: 3DI – Modeling & Textures
MMST 151: 3D II – Modeling & Rigging
MMST 161: 3D III – Animation
MMST 171: 3D IV – Advanced Animation
Each is worth 3 units. These courses are taught by Shawn Nelson, who brings expertise in 3D design and animation.
Parallel to this, the game development track comprises MMST 142: Game Development I
MMST 152: Game Development II
MMST 162: Game Development III
MMST 172: Game Development I
Also, 3 units each, under the instruction of James Gonzalez, a specialist in interactive media.
Classes are offered in hybrid formats, combining online learning with in-person sessions at the Indian Valley Campus, providing flexibility and hands-on experience. This structured pathway equips students with the skills necessary for careers in digital media, including roles such as game designer, 3D animator, and multimedia artist.
